3. Lisa Moskovitz, RD, CDN, a registered dietitian and CEO of NY Nutrition Group, points out that the keto diet can also be beneficial for athletes. “For endurance athletes, the keto diet may help improve performance by training the body to rely more on fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates,” she says. “This can lead to increased endurance and decreased muscle fatigue during long bouts of exercise.”

4. Dr. Jessica Shaw, ND, a naturopathic doctor and clinical nutritionist, highlights the anti-inflammatory benefits of the keto diet. “The keto diet can help reduce inflammation in the body, which is a common underlying factor in many chronic diseases,” she says. “By reducing inflammation, the keto diet may help improve conditions like arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular disease.”

While the keto diet may offer a range of benefits, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before making any drastic changes to your diet.
