Several studies have shown that the keto diet can be an effective way to lose weight. A review of 13 studies published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that individuals following a ketogenic diet lost more weight and experienced greater improvements in body composition compared to those on a low-fat diet.

In addition to weight loss, the keto diet has also been shown to have numerous other health benefits, including improved blood sugar control, reduced inflammation, and increased energy levels. Some research even suggests that the keto diet may be beneficial for individuals with certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy and type 2 diabetes.

Some individuals may experience side effects such as headaches, fatigue, and digestive issues when first starting the diet, commonly known as the “keto flu.” Additionally, the diet can be challenging to maintain in the long term, as it requires strict adherence to carbohydrate restrictions.
